HSE & Sustainability Specialist / ASPP
Mission
To support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Health, Safety, Environment, and Sustainability activities, contributing to risk prevention, regulatory compliance, and the effective functioning of management systems, in close collaboration with the HSE Manager, the RSPP, internal departments, and external consultants.
Role description
Reporting to the HSE & Sustainability Manager, the HSE & Sustainability Specialist / ASPP supports the Prevention and Protection Service and the Company Management Systems by performing operational, monitoring, documentation, and organizational activities. The role involves continuous collaboration with Production, Quality, HR, and Maintenance, and offers a structured professional development path in HSE, management systems, and sustainability. It is also suitable for internal candidates with an operational background who are interested in developing their expertise in these fields.
Key responsibilities
- Support to the Prevention and Protection Service (SPP): Collaborate with the RSPP in risk identification activities, updating the Risk Assessment Document (DVR), and monitoring the implementation of prevention and protection measures;
- Operational prevention, control, and supervision: Conduct workplace inspections, supporting the monitoring of compliance with safety procedures and reporting risk situations, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement;
- Incident and near-miss analysis: Contribute to the analysis of accidents, incidents, and near misses, supporting root cause identification and the definition of preventive and corrective actions;
- Industrial hygiene and risk factors: Support the industrial hygiene plan and monitoring activities related to key risk factors (noise, air quality, ventilation), also in cooperation with external consultants;
- Health surveillance: Support the operational and documentary management of health surveillance activities, working closely with HR and the Occupational Health Physician to monitor deadlines, fitness-for-work certifications, and regulatory requirements;
- Contractors and external companies management: Support the management of HSE aspects related to contractors, including the verification of safety documentation, contribution to the drafting and updating of the DUVRI, and operational coordination of interference activities;
- Emergency management: Collaborate in the management of the Company Emergency Plan, supporting the organization of emergency teams and the execution of planned drills;
- Operational environmental management: Support the oversight of environmental aspects, including operational waste management, assistance with AUA compliance checks, and monitoring adherence to environmental procedures;
- Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001): Support the maintenance of management systems, contributing to the update of procedures, work instructions, and documentation;
- Internal process and system audits: Collaborate in conducting internal process audits in coordination with the Quality function and participate in system audits and verifications carried out with the support of external consultants;
- Sustainability: Support the collection of HSE and environmental data and the monitoring of sustainability KPIs, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and ESG projects;
- Training and awareness: Support the planning and monitoring of HSE training activities and promote a strong safety and sustainability culture.
- HSE tools: Update and maintain data related to HSE activities within dedicated company information systems (e.g., HSE software).
Requirements
Education
- Technical diploma or equivalent qualification;
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or scientific field preferred (e.g., safety, environment, prevention, or related disciplines);
- ASPP qualification (Modules A and B) or willingness to obtain it.
Professional Experience
- Previous experience, even limited, in industrial environments (e.g., chemical, mechanical, or manufacturing sectors), with exposure to HSE topics, occupational safety, management systems, and environmental matters, is considered an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 and environmental regulations;
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems;
- Understanding of internal audit principles and coordination with external consultants;
- Good command of Microsoft Office;
- Knowledge of the English language.
