Continuous Improvement Engineer
Mission:
Ensure control and continuous improvement of production processes and quality systems, promote the adoption of structured methodologies, and support the organization in achieving goals for efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Role description:
The Continuous Improvement Engineer at COMEM Group, reporting to the Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager, contributes to improving existing processes, implementing products on assembly lines, and promoting a Quality and Lean Manufacturing culture across the company.
Main responsibilities:
- Lead Gemba Meetings with Production Managers to analyze and optimize existing processes, coordinating resources (machinery, personnel, and functions) to achieve company goals.
- Ensure process compliance with Safety and Quality standards.
- Promote and give visibility to Continuous Improvement activities throughout the organization.
- Conduct 5+1S Audits and manage the resolution of identified non-conformities.
- Monitor the productivity of assembly lines.
- Draft standard operating instructions and procedures for processes.
- Develop concepts and tests for process improvements and new systems to reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Assess risks using PFMEA and collaborate with DFMEA.
Requirements:
Education:
- Degree: Engineering
Professional experience:
- Preferably at least 3 years’ experience in modern manufacturing companies.
- Experience in the metalworking sector will be positively considered.
Preferred technical skills:
- Applied knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and key reference texts (e.g., Learning to See, Lean Thinking, DFMA).
- Experience in proactively drafting standard operating instructions and procedures for equipment improvement and reduction of assembly times.
- Experience with structured ERP systems, such as MS Dynamics D365 or SAP.
- Good command of written and spoken English, at B2 level.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
